Active Parks is driving system change by adopting a collaborative, community-led approach to improving parks and green spaces. It puts communities at the heart of planning and decision-making for park improvements and investments.
Key changes in practice:
Communities co-design and set priorities for park improvements.
Communities help decide where investments are made to create spaces for physical activity.
Stakeholders, including park services, neighbourhood groups, and voluntary organisations, collaborate and share resources to work with communities in creating better spaces for active living.
Safer Parks for women & girls research has been integrated into the planning and delivery of Park improvements.
31 interventions have been delivered and 33 park community events developed and delivered with the community.
